Earlier this month I visited Shenandoah National Park in Virginia. Nearly all the west facing rocks had large icicle formations on them. On my way out of the park I decided to stop and get some photos of the icicles. Since it had been above freezing they were all slowly melting.
While having lunch I noticed the intriguing pattern of lines at my table. The wicker place mat was crossed by the shadows of the blinds, which were themselves crossed by the stitching. All this seemed like a fun way to make something out of the utterly mundane.
Walking by this old school bus I decided to explore a different perspective on the subject.
