Spring Nectar

photograph of a bumble bee getting nectar from a honey suckle vine in Virginia by Doug Couvillion

Hiking along a rural trail in Amelia County, Virginia this spring I spotted a small patch of honeysuckle along the side of the trail.

I was standing there, trying to decide whether I should get any pictures of the blossoms when I heard the distinct buzzing of a bumble bee.  This lone forager had the entire honeysuckle bush to herself.  Watching her for a little while I’m sure she got everything she could from this bush before heading back to her hive.
