Mt. Rainier Snow Melt

photograph of snow melt running down Mt Rainier by Doug Couvillion

About a week ago we visited Mt. Rainier National Park in Washington.  The snow melt was in full swing and wildflowers were beginning to emerge.

We enjoyed hiking in the snow in shorts and tee shirts.  That’s something I hadn’t done before.  Volunteers in the park told us a couple of weeks later the alpine meadows would be covered in wildflowers.  Too bad we missed that but seeing the snow melt was a great experience.
